Select phrase groups
This screen chooses which of the three groups count: Set phrases, Verb example sentences and Noun example sentences. Tap a group to switch it on or off. Each row shows its size and a few sample phrases. Tap ⓘ for a short explanation with more examples.
The line at the top shows how many phrases you selected and how many are left after the rest of your scope. The phrases in the pool are also narrowed by:
- Select word scope: the level and topics. An example sentence has the level and topic of its verb or noun. Tomo café por la mañana (from tomar, A1) counts as A1.
- Select tenses: a tense example only counts when its tense is selected.
The group choice changes the pool the most. Set phrases alone is a small, focused pool. With both example groups on, many thousands of sentences are included. Topics are useful here too: going on a trip? Limit Select word scope to Travel and Social.
Learn set phrases as a whole. Don't translate de vez en cuando word by word.
