Privacy Policy¶
Last updated: May 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how LinguaMorpha ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the LinguaMorpha mobile application (the "App").
The short version: LinguaMorpha is a local-first app. All your data — answers, progress, settings — stays on your device. There is no account, no cloud sync, and no analytics tracking.
What we collect¶
What you provide¶
- Your answers and study activity — Every answer you give in a flashcard or drill is stored locally on your device, along with the date, time, word, and question type. This data is used by the App's adaptive learning system to decide which words to show you next. It is never sent off the device.
- Your preferences — Interface language, native language, session size, learning pace, voice and speech speed, and word-selection filters are stored locally on your device.
What we don't collect¶
- We do not collect any personal information such as your name, email address, or date of birth.
- We do not require, create, or maintain user accounts.
- We do not collect your precise or approximate location.
- We do not access your contacts, camera, microphone, or photos. The App does not include speaking exercises, audio recording, or any feature that uses the microphone.
- We do not run any analytics, telemetry, or crash-reporting service against your use of the App. There is no Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Sentry, Crashlytics, or equivalent in the App.
- We do not store or transmit your answer history, progress, or any other study data to our servers. We do not have a server for this data.
When the app uses the internet¶
The App is designed to work fully offline. There are a few specific situations where it may make a network connection:
- In-app purchases. If you purchase or restore a LinguaMorpha one-time purchase, the App communicates with Apple's App Store and StoreKit servers. This is handled entirely by Apple — we do not see your payment information.
- External dictionary lookups. Some screens include an optional "look up in external dictionary" button that opens an external Spanish dictionary in Safari. This action is user-initiated and Safari (not LinguaMorpha) is what loads the page.
- Bug reports and feedback. When you shake the device to send feedback, the App opens the system Mail composer with a pre-filled email containing a screenshot of the current screen, the App version, your iOS version, and your device model. The email is sent only when you tap Send, and it goes through your own mail account directly to the developer. The App itself does not transmit anything in the background.
How we use information¶
Because we don't collect personal information, there's very little to use. The on-device data described above is used for:
- Powering the adaptive learning system inside the App.
- Restoring your session state, preferences, and study history between launches.
- Responding to support requests that you send us by email — only the information you choose to include in the email.
Data sharing¶
We do not share any of your data with third parties, because there is no data on our side to share. Communication with the App Store for purchases is handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy.
Data retention and deletion¶
Your study data lives on your device until you delete it. You can reset your progress at any time from inside the App, in Settings → Data → Reset Progress — you can reset Verbs only, Nouns only, or everything at once. Uninstalling the App removes all of its local data from your device.
Your rights¶
Because we do not hold any personal data about you, requests to access, correct, or delete your data are best handled directly on your device using the reset and uninstall mechanisms described above. If you have questions, contact us at privacy@linguamorpha.nl.
Children's privacy¶
LinguaMorpha is not directed at children under the age of 13, but the App does not collect personal information from anyone, so children's privacy is not put at risk by using it.
Security¶
Your study data lives in the App's sandboxed storage on your device. iOS sandboxing prevents other apps from reading it.
When you send a bug report email, the email is transmitted using your own mail account's normal security (typically TLS/HTTPS).
Changes to this policy¶
We may update this Privacy Policy if the App's behaviour changes. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
