Past participle (Participio)
A flashcard deck for the past participle, the form used in the compound tenses (he hablado) and as an adjective (la puerta cerrada).
Regular participles end in -ado (-ar verbs) or -ido (-er and -ir verbs). About a dozen common verbs have their own: decir → dicho, hacer → hecho, poner → puesto, ver → visto, escribir → escrito, volver → vuelto, morir → muerto, abrir → abierto, romper → roto. Their compounds take the same form (descubrir → descubierto, deshacer → deshecho).
The card. The front shows the infinitive under the instruction "Give the participio". Tap the card to turn it: the back shows the participle and the verb's translation. The book opens the verb's full conjugation; the speaker reads the infinitive on the front and the participle on the back.
Grading. On iPhone and iPad, swipe right if you knew it and left if you didn't. On the Mac, and with VoiceOver, use the Wrong and Correct buttons. The card then moves on by itself.
How the deck is built. Every verb in your selection with an irregular participle is in the deck, plus half as many regular verbs for comparison: ten irregulars make a deck of fifteen. The line under the progress bar shows the mix, e.g. "10 irregular + 5 regular · from 120 selected verbs". Each session then takes its cards from this deck, up to Questions per session, based on your answer history and your Learning pace.
If none of your selected verbs has an irregular participle, the screen says so and offers two ways out: Edit your verb selection, or Use every verb (just for this drill).
The session. The Incorrect answers switch, the answer count, the seven-in-a-row prompt and the end of the session work as in Verb meaning. Each graded card is recorded on your device against the verb.
