Open vragen

Werkwoorden — tegen Wiktionary

haber — imperativoAfirmativo · second

The app gives haber a second-person imperative, ha; Wiktionary offers habe, he, hete or hábete. In living Spanish haber has effectively no imperative — what survives is the fossilised he in he aquí. Should the app show a form at all, and if so which, or should the cell be left empty?

In dit onderdeel beslist en vastgelegd (6) — open voor de redenen

Elke regel is één vastgelegd verschil: waar het over gaat, het oordeel van de vergelijking en de reden die het register bewaart — de aantekening van de makers, in het Engels.

  • acontecer, ocurrir, atardecer … (8) · we suppress — Impersonal verbs — the weather verbs and the two 'to happen' verbs. Llueve, nieva, acontece: there is no subject to be first or second person, and *lluevo* is not Spanish. We emit the third person only. Wiktionary's template fills all six because it fills all six for everything, which is why this bucket is reported and not counted against us.
  • agradar, apetecer, corresponder … (17) — imperativo* · we suppress — Verbs the catalogue declares to have no imperative, and every suppressed cell of theirs is an imperative — you cannot order someone to gustar, doler, faltar, fallecer or suceder. A semantic claim rather than a morphological one, which is precisely why the oracle disagrees: the forms are formable and Wiktionary forms them. Listed by lemma rather than matched by tense so that adding an eighteenth verb to the claim takes an edit here.
  • crujir, ladrar, latir … (4) · we suppress — Sound verbs — a floor creaks, a dog barks, a heart beats, a cat miaows. The catalogue marks them third_person_only (d128e873): third singular and plural, los perros ladran, and no yo ladro or tú maúllas offered as a form to learn. A usage claim rather than a morphological one — the forms are formable, and turn up in figurative use — which is why Wiktionary fills all six persons and why the four verbs are named here rather than matched by rule. 136 cells: the first and second persons of every tense, imperatives included.
  • soler · we suppress — Defective, and famously so: soler has no future, no conditional and no imperative — *soleré* is not said. Twenty-two cells, all in those three tenses.
  • criar, fluir, freír … (6) · accent-only — The RAE's 2010 Ortografía ruled these monosyllabic for accentuation — guio, crio, fluis, riais — and the oracle follows it. We keep the traditional accent (guió, crié, fluís, riáis), which is what Spanish speakers and Spanish textbooks overwhelmingly still write, and what a learner will meet in print. A deliberate choice of one live norm over another, not a spelling error, and it is recorded here so that changing our mind is an edit rather than an argument. Twenty cells across six verbs, all of them the -io/-ie/-ais shapes the rule touches.
  • despertarse, reírse — imperativoAfirmativo · DIFFERS — Ours is right and the oracle is wrong, which is rare enough to say plainly. despiértate, ríete, riámonos: the stem change is obligatory under stress, and the oracle's despértate, réete, reámonos are built from the unchanged stem. The signature identifies it as a template defect rather than a variant — it hits ONLY the reflexive imperative, only for stem-changing verbs, and the same verbs' non-reflexive imperatives (despierta, ríe) agree with us.
