Follow LinguaMorpha¶
LinguaMorpha doesn't market like a typical app. There are no daily tips, no streak nags, no engagement-bait threads. Social channels exist for one job: letting interested people know when something ships. That's it.
If you want a quiet, low-volume way to hear about new modules (Italian in v1.4, Portuguese in v1.6), feature updates, and the occasional grammar-coverage milestone — pick whichever of the channels below fits how you already use the internet.
The most important channel: the App Store itself¶
If you have LinguaMorpha installed and your App Store automatic updates are on, you'll get every new version delivered without doing anything. That's the channel we actually optimise for — the release notes attached to each app-version update are the canonical source of truth for what's new.
Open Settings → App Store → App Updates on your iOS device to confirm automatic updates are enabled. The toggle is on by default, but worth checking.
Social channels¶
The accounts below will be live by v1.0 launch. If you're reading this before launch, the handles aren't published yet — check back, or watch the App Store badge above (which will gain social icons next to it once the accounts exist).
Mastodon¶
The classics community has migrated heavily to Mastodon (especially classicists.social and hcommons.social), and the indie-iOS-developer community has a strong presence too. This will be the primary channel for quiet release announcements and the occasional Latin-related share.
- Handle:
@linguamorpha@hachyderm.io(planned — confirm at launch) - What to expect: version-ships posts, occasional grammar-coverage milestones, replies to questions and bug reports. Low frequency — typically 2–4 posts per month.
Bluesky¶
The other "post-Twitter" platform with a serious academic and dev presence. Cross-posted with Mastodon for reach.
- Handle:
@linguamorpha.nl(planned — confirm at launch) - What to expect: same content as Mastodon, posted via a cross-poster tool.
X (formerly Twitter)¶
Still the platform where iOS-indie launches get attention, even if the platform itself is messier than it was. Same low-volume voice as Mastodon and Bluesky — version announcements, the occasional milestone, replies to support questions when they come in this channel.
- Handle:
@linguamorpha(planned — confirm at launch) - What to expect: the same release-announcement posts as the other channels, plus engagement with the iOS-indie community.
LinkedIn¶
A small presence for the professional / business surface — useful when language-learning-platform stories make sense in a more formal register. Lowest priority of the four.
- Page: LinguaMorpha (planned — confirm at launch)
- What to expect: roughly one post per major version. Not for daily content; for "next module ships next week" announcements suitable to a professional feed.
What you won't find us on¶
A few platforms we considered and chose not to use, transparency-style:
Instagram, TikTok, YouTube¶
These platforms reward daily content marketing — word-of-the-day reels, grammar-explainer videos, etymology-thread carousels. That kind of work would be a full-time job, and a Latin-grammar app that bills itself as the antidote to streak-engagement-bait apps shouldn't be playing that game itself. We may revisit later if there's a niche fit, but not at v1.0.
Facebook¶
Not a fit for the audience (adult self-directed learners, classics students, language hobbyists). We considered a Facebook page for completeness and decided against the maintenance overhead.
A daily newsletter¶
We considered an opt-in email newsletter and decided the App Store + Mastodon + Bluesky combination covers the same job without asking anyone for an email address. We also don't run analytics, and a newsletter would require either a hosted service (analytics implied) or self-hosting (operational burden) — neither fit the no-accounts, no-tracking brand.
Reading the long form¶
For deeper-than-a-toot release notes:
- What's Next roadmap — version-by-version of what's committed.
- Recipes — worked study scenarios; updated when significant features land.
- Grammar Coverage — the source-of-truth document for what the app drills, updated with each catalogue expansion.
Contact for press and partnerships¶
For press enquiries, academic partnerships (university / school site licences are not currently offered, but classical-studies department enquiries are welcome), or to be on a pre-release list for v1.4 / v1.6 modules:
This is the same address as general support but used here so press emails can be triaged by subject prefix. Expect a response within a few days; LinguaMorpha is a small operation.
